Project Controls Specialist (Hybrid)
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support program budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance reporting. This position will work closely with program leadership, the PMO, and engineering teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and consistent cost controls across all program workstreams.
- Develop, maintain, and report on program budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards.
- Track actual costs against forecasts, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly spending plans, accruals, and cost summaries for client reporting.
- Support KPI tracking, performance metrics, and executive-level dashboards.
- Coordinate with program, PMO, and engineering teams to validate program expenditures.
- Maintain project controls documentation and ensure consistency across all program workstreams.
- Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen cost controls and forecasting accuracy.
- Support audit and regulatory readiness by maintaining clear documentation of cost and workflow processes.
- Translate financial and operational data into meaningful, actionable insights for program leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or financial analysis.
- Experience within utilities, energy efficiency, or infrastructure programs is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, financial reporting, and data-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Smartsheet.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and cost reporting.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead program-reporting activities.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations and actionable insights.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
