Project Engineer Power Generation Procurement (Hybrid)
Job Description
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our client's power generation and transmission initiatives through project development, procurement activities, and contract administration. This role will assist with the development and execution of generation resource procurements, support RFP and RFQ processes, evaluate proposals, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic energy projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of engineering knowledge, project management experience, and commercial acumen, with a strong understanding of power generation assets, transmission systems, and energy resource development.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and execution of competitive RFP and RFQ processes for generation and transmission projects.
- Support the evaluation of technical and commercial proposals and prepare recommendations for management review.
- Coordinate procurement activities related to renewable and conventional generation resources, including offshore wind, solar, energy storage, fuel cells, smart grid technologies, and traditional generation assets.
- Provide technical and commercial support throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Assist with contract administration activities, including vendor communications, negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Analyze project costs, commercial terms, and technical requirements to support procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, regulatory, operations, and external stakeholders throughout project development and execution.
- Support project planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication efforts.
- Assist with documentation and reporting to ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and internal governance processes.
- Provide support for projects associated with New York State clean energy initiatives, transmission expansion, and generation resource development.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues as they arise.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Experience managing engineering, energy, utility, or infrastructure-related projects.
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, contract management, or vendor management activities.
- Knowledge of commercial contracts, proposal evaluations, and procurement processes.
- Understanding of power generation, transmission, and energy resource projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
