Job Description

HEPCO Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager / Control Account Manager (CAM) to support Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) projects. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of complex, multi-disciplinary technical initiatives within the Department of Energy (DOE) environment.

This position requires advanced expertise in project controls, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and a deep understanding of engineering principles to ensure technical, cost, and schedule performance objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and manage small to complex projects, ensuring compliance with LANL and DOE project management standards.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage project activities from initiation through close-out.
  • Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM), overseeing scope, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, performance metrics, budgets, and reports.
  • Identify variances, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to project staff and technical teams.
  • Prepare and present detailed project performance and financial reports to senior management and DOE representatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and project performance improvement initiatives.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of EVMS, project control methodologies, and risk management techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, and federal project control standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Project Management, or related discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in two or more of the following areas: project management, project controls, engineering, construction, or procurement.
  • Proven experience working within DOE, NNSA, or similar federal project environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and project performance reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Active DOE "L” or "Q” clearance (or ability to obtain) preferred.

Pay Range: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
