Quality Engineering Assistant II (On-site)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer I to join their QAVMI QAE Team as an Individual Contributor. The primary focus of this role is on Product Build Assembly, Inspection, and Test Verification. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of products throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and tests on products during assembly and build phases to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document and maintain records related to product inspection and acceptance.
- Provide hands-on support to Quality Inspection staff and program/project personnel.
- Understand and apply defense electronics manufacturing quality and workmanship requirements.
- Assist in the control of non-conforming materials and support process improvements.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and effective audits as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity in requirements and quality expectations.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience and knowledge of manufacturing environments, including Process Sheets, Route Cards, Manufacturing Instructions, and Product Inspection.
- Hands-on experience supporting Quality Inspection staff and Program/Project personnel.
- Understanding of Defense Electronics Manufacturing quality and workmanship requirements.
- IPC 610 Certification is essential.
Skills Preferred:
- Experience with Non-Conforming Material Control and Process Improvement.
- Ability to conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and effective audits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and react to program requirements flow-down.
Experience Required:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Strong and demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, visual) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and communicate effectively within a team environment.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while producing high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma analysis and tools.
- Industry experience in Defense Electronics Manufacturing, including complex electronic sub-assemblies, LRUs, and complete systems.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as AS9100 or ISO9001.
- Experience with TIPQA and Oracle PDM is a plus.
Education Required:
- Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
