SCADA Engineer (On-site)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled SCADA Engineer to configure, maintain, and support their SCADA and Load Management infrastructure. This role ensures the reliable, safe, and secure operation of the systems, while adhering to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Configuration: Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of SCADA and Load Management systems in line with policies and regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system changes, compliance assessments, testing procedures, and equipment management.
- Security: Enhance procedures related to physical and cyber security, ensuring robust protection and compliance.
- Programming and Communication: Implement and optimize SCADA system programming for effective communication with field equipment.
- Maintenance and Support: Oversee SCADA servers, databases, and related systems, ensuring seamless integration with Electric Operations systems and managing vendor relationships.
- Operator Displays and Databases: Develop and update SCADA operator displays and databases for improved usability and efficiency.
- Coordination with Power Supply: Manage peak demand load shedding programs and coordinate with Power Supply teams.
- Cyber Security and Incident Response: Develop and implement OT Cyber Security and Incident Response Plans.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate with Electric Operations staff and manage ICCP database and data exchange processes.
- Audit Participation: Act as a subject matter expert during audits and provide necessary insights.
- Technical Support: Provide expert support for SCADA system issues and recovery efforts.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong computer and networking skills.
- Proficiency with Windows, LINUX, Microsoft Office, virtualization, security event monitoring, and configuration management software.
- Experience with real-time SCADA systems, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Power System Operations concepts and NERC CIP standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage projects, work independently or in a team, and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of experience with SCADA or equivalent distributed control systems.
Professional Relations:
- Internal: Coordinate with various departments, share information, and work with IT on software and computer upgrades.
- External: Maintain high-quality customer service, liaise with vendors, contractors, and SCADA software providers.
Physical Demands:
- Regular sitting, with moderate climbing, balancing, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
- Requires motor coordination and finger dexterity for machine operations.
Work Environment Characteristics:
- Minimal risk of electrical shock, exposure to airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate noise levels, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation and maintenance of a personal communication device for emergency contact.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $57.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
