Senior Electrical Design Specialist (Hybrid)
Job Description
If you have strong Creo cabling experience and know how to design, route, and package wiring harnesses in military vehicle environments, this is the kind of role you want to see. This position is ideal for a hands-on electrical design professional who can take wiring harness designs from concept through release and work confidently across full-vehicle integration.
- Perform design and drafting of electrical components, including wiring harnesses and line replaceable units (LRUs)
- Perform design and drafting of mechanical support parts, such as brackets, for electrical equipment packaging
- Design, route, and integrate complex wiring harnesses throughout an entire vehicle
- Flatten and dimension wiring harness models for production and documentation purposes
- Package and integrate electrical components across a complete vehicle platform
- Assess available space within the vehicle, determine routing paths for wiring harnesses, and coordinate with stakeholders to finalize component packaging
- Produce models and drawings in accordance with established modeling and drafting requirements
- Submit models and drawings through peer review and release processes
- Incorporate and disposition peer review comments and feedback
- Complete designs from concept development through review, detailed design, documentation, verification, and validation of subsystems
- Utilize advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration/verification procedures
Skills Required
- Experience with modeling and drafting in Creo Parametric
- Experience routing wiring harnesses in Creo Parametric
- Experience working with electrical and electronic systems on military ground vehicles
- Strong experience designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, including routing and drawing development
- Understanding of drawing generation using Creo Pro-Cable
- Expert knowledge of CAD drafting, modeling, and design techniques
- Understanding of MIL-STD-100, ANSI Y14.5 / Y14.41, and GD&T principles
- Understanding of wire routing utilizing logical data from Siemens Capital Harness
- Working knowledge of military electrical connector and electrical cabling specifications
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative Integrated Product Team environment
Experience Required
- 5 years of design experience in Creo Parametric
- 2 years of design experience in Creo Pro-Cable
Education Required
- Associate degree in a relevant technical discipline with a minimum of 9 years of experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
