Senior Electrical Engineer (On-site)

Job Description

We are a currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our client’s Combat Mission Systems business, focusing on ground combat vehicles. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacturing of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve quality and manufacturing process issues.
  • Conduct defect investigations, analyze trends, and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations.
  • Report progress and present findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001, and related IPC standards/guidelines is essential.
  • Travel to other locations may be required infrequently (approximately 10% or less).

Skills Required:

  • Proven problem-solving abilities using structured methods and systems.
  • Technical drawing comprehension and compliance assessment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and industry-related software applications.

Skills Preferred (but not required):

  • PCBA/CCA design experience in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and related standards.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
  • Experience with low/high voltage electrical power distribution and management, servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Understanding of design for environmental qualification, including EMI/EMC design and qualification principles.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a relevant function and industry.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Experience with Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis.
