Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support their Combat Mission Systems business focused on ground combat vehicles. The selected candidate will work closely with electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and circuit card assemblies (CCA), as well as the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure high production quality of PCBA/CCA and associated enclosures.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues through defect investigations and trend analysis.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in team-led problem-solving and root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Evaluate the impact of nonconforming products and assess corrective actions taken by suppliers.
  • Promote a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply chain.
  • Attend Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team.

Travel Requirement:
Regular work at the supplier facility in Huntsville, AL, with occasional travel to other supplier locations (approximately 10% or less).

Required Skills:

  • Effective problem solver utilizing structured methods and systems.
  • Understanding of technical drawing requirements and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in designing PCBAs/CCAs for aerospace or defense industries.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and related standards.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and equipment common in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Understanding of low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC design and qualification.

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001 standards.
  • Exposure to Failure Analysis and Corrective/Preventative Actions.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Education:

  • Certification to IPC-A-600 is a plus.

Pay Range: $49.00 - $54.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
