Senior Electrical Engineer - Electronics Production Support (On-site)

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our client's Combat Mission Systems business, focusing on ground combat vehicles. The role involves close collaboration with electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and circuit card assemblies (CCA), along with their associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-locate with suppliers to ensure high production quality of PCBA/CCA and LRU enclosures.
- Resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process issues to support production.
- Conduct defect investigations, analyze defect trends, and lead continuous improvement projects.
- Communicate requirements and expectations to suppliers, providing progress reports and findings.
- Utilize knowledge of IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620 standards.
- Support team-led problem solving and root-cause analysis to eliminate non-conformances.
- Evaluate nonconforming products and assess supplier corrective actions.
- Assist suppliers in process improvements to resolve manufacturing concerns.
- Promote a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base.
- Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team.
Required Skills:
- Effective problem-solving using structured methods and systems.
- Understanding of technical drawing requirements and compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.
- Design experience with PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries.
- Knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620.
- Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation.
- Experience with production line validation, test, equipment, and qualification of fabricated products.
- Understanding of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
- Knowledge of low voltage (28Vdc) and high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management.
- Experience with servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and testing.
- Understanding of design for environmental qualification, including EMI/EMC principles.
- Familiarity with IPC-6012, IPC-6013, IPC-6018, MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and ASME Y14.5.
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years in a relevant function and industry.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001.
- Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
