We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our client's team. This position is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of a variety of networks, including planning, evaluating, designing, and coordinating the installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and voice communication networks. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in all areas of network infrastructure, computer hardware, software interconnection, and interfacing, with a focus on both short- and long-term network planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering and Design:

• Architect and build complex multi-site, multi-tenant networks, ensuring robust traffic segregation.
• Propose and document outages, implementation changes, and system reference architectures.
• Implement industry best practices for network design and implementation.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all network infrastructure.

Operations and Support:

• Leverage network orchestration technologies such as Juniper Apstra or Cisco vManage.
• Install, configure, maintain, and decommission data center network infrastructure.
• Utilize routing protocols like BGP or OSPF to interconnect networks and ensure high availability of data center services.
• Operate in a multi-vendor environment and work with diverse hardware and software products.

Incident Response:

• Actively participate in incident response and root-cause analysis, promoting a blameless post-mortem culture.
• Proactively troubleshoot complex issues in development and interconnected networks.

Automation:

• Automate network operations to increase efficiency, enforce configurations, and ensure repeatability using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python.

Skills Required:

Professional Skills:

• Ability to obtain a Security+ or equivalent security certification within 6 months of starting.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a production environment.
• Ability to independently research solutions to network-related problems and propose viable solutions.
• Capability to collaborate with multiple teams to accomplish complex tasks.
• Comfortable working with multiple vendors in a heterogeneous environment.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with at least one virtualization platform.
• Expertise in LAN switching technologies such as VLANs, spanning tree, and ether-channel.
• Ability to configure network routing protocols like Static, OSPF, and BGP.
• Proficient with firewall routing, policy, and inspection.
• Familiarity with configuring and managing NAT devices.
• Experience with IP-Sec VPNs and GRE.

Skills Preferred:

• Security+ or equivalent certification.
• Experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS and Ethernet.
• Understanding of networking requirements for high-performance storage systems.
• Familiarity with network virtualization and SD-WAN.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python.
• Experience with EVPN-VXLAN overlay architectures.
• Familiarity with VMware network architectures.
• Experience with data center orchestration technologies like Apstra.
• Familiarity with multicast technologies and anycast routing.
• Experience with high-speed Ethernet technologies (25GB, 40GB, & 100GB physical implementation).
• Familiarity with public cloud technologies.
• Experience working in a GitOps-style automation pipeline.

Experience Required:

• 18+ years of experience with a High School diploma.
• 14+ years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
• 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of experience with a Master’s degree.
• 7+ years of experience with a PhD.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range: $77.00 - $82.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
