Sr Mechanical Designer (On-site)
Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical Designer to support engineering, design, analysis, and product development efforts within a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.
- Utilize CAD tools (PTC Creo or similar) to design components, systems, and sub-systems, and modify existing designs to improve production outcomes
- Support mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware design from conceptual layouts through detailed design and production release
- Conduct design trade studies, tolerance analysis, and volume/packaging evaluations
- Plan, develop, release, and control product definition data including engineering models and drawings
- Take ownership of design specifications and ensure compliance through final product delivery
- Collaborate with technicians on prototype builds, testing, and engineering hardware development
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to solve problems and meet program objectives
- Create, maintain, and update engineering records, documentation, and files
- Perform configuration management activities including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and change actions
- Delegate tasks to designers, drafters, and checkers from concept through production release
- Work within SAP/SAR or similar systems in secure, on-site program environments
Requirements:
- Associate degree in engineering sciences or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design/drafting, including at least 3 years in a senior-level role
- Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
- Experience with full design lifecycle including conceptual development, design, manufacturing, and production support
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for mechanical components and assemblies
- Proficiency with PTC Creo Parametric and related file management systems
- Active DoD Security Clearance required

Pay Range: $59.00 - $64.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
