Supervisor, Production Maintenance (On-Site)
Job Description
Our client is expanding and seeking an experienced Production Maintenance Supervisor to join their team onsite in Coppell, Texas. In this direct hire role, you will oversee the Production Technical Support Department and report directly to the Manager/Senior Director of Production Technical Support.
- Provide direction and hands-on mechanical support to production mechanics; ensure consistent workflow and timely equipment repairs.
- Maintain parts inventory, including preparing detailed parts lists with vendors and associated costs.
- Oversee preventive maintenance records and ensure maintenance is completed according to schedule.
- Stay informed on new technologies and equipment used within technical support and production operations.
- Fill in for the Department Manager as needed.
- Meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets for assigned shift (labor costs, overtime, inventory control, etc.).
- Monitor and maximize machine throughput.
- Coach, counsel, motivate, and develop technicians; manage recognition and discipline.
- Ensure administrative work and departmental procedures are completed accurately.
- Maintain personnel records for all direct reports.
- Communicate daily with senior management regarding strategic scheduling and operational updates.
- Review daily throughput and downtime reports and provide feedback to team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Span of control: Approximately 6–8 FTAs + 6–8 technicians, including all production equipment supported by technical and production operations.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Technical/Trade School certification.
- 5+ years of experience operating and repairing production equipment.
- Proficiency in insertion and bindery equipment; electronic and electrical circuit knowledge required.
- Electrical/electronics repair experience a plus.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Jet/IQ.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Ability to follow direction and work under pressure to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
This is a fully onsite position.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM during off-peak periods; 6:00 PM–6:00 AM during on-peak periods, including some weekends.
Compensation
- Salary range: $66,000–$86,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education.
- 10% shift differential.
