Technical Publication Developer, W2, Hybrid
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Publication Developer to support our client's engineering sector projects. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in creating and revising complex technical documentation, ensuring all tools and processes align with industry and government standards. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of markup languages such as XML, S1000 D, and SGML, along with experience in publishing and authoring tools.
- Create and revise complex technical documentation in support of marketing, operations, repair, and maintenance.
- Work with XML, S1000 D, SGML, XSL-FO, FOSI’s, and Document Type Definitions (DTD) to ensure technical documentation meets required standards.
- Develop, modify, and maintain tools, processes, and software code, ensuring compliance with company, industry, and government specifications.
- Ensure that all content and tools function as intended, and maintain the integrity of the documentation.
- Assist in the development of new processes to improve the efficiency of documentation workflows.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working with XML, CCMS, and XSLT.
- Minimum 5 years of experience creating and revising complex technical documentation.
- Proficient in XML publishing and software tools.
- Expertise in markup languages and XML Component Content Management Systems (CCMS).
- Experience with XML development tools like XML Oxygen and XML Spy.
- Experience writing XML to XML or XML to text transforms using XSLT 2.0.
- Knowledge of XSL-FO 1.1 functionality.
- Familiarity with xPath.
- Experience with MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-38784, and/or MIL-DTL-24784.
- Preferred:
- Technical writing experience in a similar field is highly preferred.

Pay Range: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
